KARACHI, Aug. 3, 2026: The Executive Committee of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) has elected Malik Khuda Baksh as its new Chairman, securing 85% support from committee members.
The committee elected a new chairman after longtime PPDA leader Abdul Sami Khan, now over 94 years old, stepped back from the association’s day-to-day affairs.
Vice Chairman Anwar Kamal chaired the meeting, which brought together 25 of the association’s 30 executive committee members in person and online. During the vote, 24 members, including the Vice Chairman and Senior Vice Chairman, backed Malik Khuda Baksh for the top position.
Furthermore, the Executive Committee praised Malik Khuda Baksh’s 50 years of service to the association and described him as the most suitable candidate to lead PPDA.
Meanwhile, the committee unanimously appointed Abdul Sami Khan as the Chief Patron of the association in recognition of his longstanding leadership and contributions.
In addition, members unanimously nominated Baber Ali Chaudhry as Secretary Information of PPDA.
Abdul Sami Khan, Wasim Qadri, and Zahid Ansari did not attend the meeting.
Finally, the Executive Committee congratulated Malik Khuda Baksh on his election and expressed confidence that he would continue working to protect the rights and interests of petroleum dealers across Pakistan.
