Sindh Govt Backs ‘Make in Pakistan’ Initiative at 15th IEEEP Fair

KARACHI, August 24, 2026: The 15th IEEEP Fair 2026 concluded at the Karachi Expo Centre, with the Sindh government pledging full support for local manufacturing and the growth of Pakistan’s engineering sector.

The three-day event was jointly organized by the Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP) Karachi Centre and Badar Expo Solutions.

Sindh Provincial Minister for Energy and Planning & Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, who attended the closing ceremony as chief guest, assured manufacturers that the provincial government would help address issues related to taxation, duties, regulations and other barriers to industrial growth.

He stressed the need to turn government policies into practical measures and urged public-sector institutions to give priority to locally manufactured products.

The minister said the exhibition provided an important platform for engineers, manufacturers, professionals and industry leaders to exchange ideas, develop partnerships and showcase modern products and technologies.

He said the “Make in Pakistan” theme was particularly important amid the country’s current economic challenges. He also praised IEEEP Karachi Centre and Badar Expo Solutions for bringing industry, government and other key stakeholders together.

IEEEP Karachi Centre Chairman Engr. Naveed Akram Ansari said the fair was more than a traditional exhibition. He described it as a platform where engineers, technocrats and industry leaders could exchange knowledge, ideas and practical experiences.

He said the 2026 edition strengthened industry-government interaction through B2B meetings, Make in Pakistan sessions and technical seminars. These activities focused on local manufacturing, industrial supply chains and emerging technologies.

Ansari also highlighted the newly introduced Made in Pakistan Excellence Award, which aims to promote high-quality local production and strengthen Pakistan’s export competitiveness.

The award was won by MACHT (Pvt) Limited. An expert panel led by Engineer Khalid Pervez selected the winner. The panel included Engineer Ibrahim Haq, Engineer Dr. Mohsin Aman, Engineer Asif Siddiqui and Engineer Shahab Raja.

Zohair Naseer, Chief Executive Officer of Badar Expo Solutions, thanked more than 200 local and international exhibitors for showcasing innovations in electrical, electronics and renewable energy.

He also appreciated the event sponsors, official partners, media organizations and members of the organizing committee for their support.

Commemorative shields were presented to Bronze, Gold, Silver and Platinum sponsors, exhibitors and organizing committee members in recognition of their contributions.

Naseer said the fair strengthened cooperation between industry and government. He added that B2B meetings and trade interactions during the three-day event created new business opportunities and prospects for strategic partnerships.

The organizers announced that the 16th IEEEP Fair will be held from September 7 to 9, 2027, at the Karachi Expo Centre.
