K-Electric Announces Loadshedding Exemptions for Ashura and Extends Bill Payment Deadline

KARACHI, June 23, 2026: K-Electric (KE) adjusts its operations to support citizens during Ashura. It exempts select areas from loadshedding to ensure smooth religious observance and public convenience.

Across Karachi, KE identifies 371 feeders as high priority. These areas host processions, majalis, and other gatherings. Moreover, 244 medium- and high-loss feeders will also remain exempt from scheduled loadshedding. This exemption applies from the evening of 8th Muharram to the morning of 11th Muharram.

Meanwhile, KE coordinates closely with authorities and stakeholders. As a result, it ensures uninterrupted power supply along procession routes and key congregation points. In addition, its technical teams stay on high alert to respond quickly to faults or emergencies.

Furthermore, KE introduces an additional facilitation measure for customers. It extends electricity bill due dates that fall during the holiday period.

Bills due on 25th and 26th June 2026 can now be paid until 29th June 2026 without late fees. Consequently, customers receive more flexibility during the holidays.

In parallel, KE informs all banks and payment centres about the revised schedule. Customers can also contact the 24/7 helpline (118) or use KE’s digital platforms for support.

Finally, KE urges citizens to stay cautious around electrical infrastructure. It advises maintaining a safe distance from overhead lines and installations to ensure safety during Ashura. It also encourages customers to use KE Live App, WhatsApp service, and social media channels for bill payments, complaints, and outage updates.
