Toyota Employees Turn Independence Day Pride into Civic Responsibility

KARACHI, August 17, 2026: Employees of Indus Motor Company Limited (IMC), the manufacturer of Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, marked Independence Day with a civic responsibility initiative by collecting national flags and buntings left behind across Karachi.

Under its annual National Flag Collection Drive, employee volunteers collected flags from roads, pavements and public spaces following the August 14 celebrations. The initiative aims to ensure that the national flag is treated with dignity and respect.

This year, volunteers covered several areas of Karachi, including Steel Town, Surjani Town, Orangi Town, Maripur, Super Highway and Airmen Club Road. The collected flags and buntings were later taken to IMC for respectful handling under the company’s established process.

The initiative is part of IMC’s Employee Volunteering Program and its CSR platform, Concern Beyond Cars. The company said the activity reflects its commitment to corporate citizenship and encourages employees to contribute to the communities where they live and work.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Asghar Jamali, Chief Executive Officer of Indus Motor Company Limited, said Toyota’s connection with Pakistan extends beyond vehicle manufacturing.

He said the national flag represents the country the company serves, the people it works with and the future in which it is invested. He added that respecting the dignity of the national flag is a simple but important responsibility.

The annual drive also promotes values of discipline, order and respect for shared public spaces. Through the initiative, employees are encouraged to turn their patriotic spirit into practical action.

IMC said the National Flag Collection Drive has become an annual employee-led tradition, highlighting the company’s belief that its contribution to Pakistan is defined not only by its manufacturing activities but also by the role its people play in society.
