PTCL Group Reports 62% Revenue Growth in H1 as Telecom Merger Lifts Earnings

ISLAMABAD, July 28, 2026 (TheBizUpdate): Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Group reported a 62% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue for the first half of 2026, as the integration of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan boosted its mobile business and strengthened profitability.

The telecom and ICT services provider said consolidated operating profit jumped 226%, while net profit reached Rs4.7 billion during the six months ended June 30.

PTCL attributed the growth to higher revenues from fixed broadband, enterprise, wholesale and mobile services following the merger of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan under Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML).

PTCL’s standalone revenue rose 8% from a year earlier, supported by a 27% increase in Flash Fiber revenue, 13% growth in Business Solutions, 16% growth in Carrier and Wholesale services, and a 3% increase in international business revenue.

The company posted an operating profit of Rs8.5 billion and a net profit of Rs3.6 billion, up 211% from a year earlier. It said a Rs2 billion dividend from its wireless business also supported earnings.

PTML, the group’s mobile business, recorded a 138% increase in revenue, while operating profit climbed 203% to Rs23.1 billion. The company said the performance reflected the successful consolidation of Telenor Pakistan and continued growth in its corporate and retail segments.

Meanwhile, Ubank generated Rs12.3 billion in revenue and returned to operating profitability during the period. Its bottom line improved by 85% compared with the same period last year.

Operationally, PTCL completed the merger of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan during the second quarter, creating one of Pakistan’s largest telecom operators. The integrated business combines spectrum assets, network infrastructure and a significantly expanded subscriber base.

PTCL also surpassed 900,000 Flash Fiber subscribers, reinforcing its position as the country’s largest fiber broadband provider.

The company expanded its consumer offerings through new partnerships. It collaborated with Apple’s authorized distributor, Mercantile, to launch bundled packages featuring a MacBook Neo and a 100 Mbps Flash Fiber connection. It also partnered with Okasha to introduce smart home products, including connected security and automation solutions.

Demand for enterprise services also remained strong, with cloud computing, artificial intelligence infrastructure, cybersecurity, managed services and data center solutions driving growth in the Business Solutions segment.

PTML continued integrating its mobile operations during the quarter. It completed on-net harmonization between Ufone and Telenor Pakistan, allowing more than 74 million subscribers to communicate seamlessly across both networks. The company also launched its first joint brand campaign following the merger.

After acquiring additional spectrum in Pakistan’s 5G auction earlier this year, PTML began rolling out 5G services while continuing network integration to improve capacity and coverage.

The group’s digital channels also expanded. Digital recharge penetration reached 59%, while monthly active users of the My Telenor and UPTCL mobile applications increased by 10% and 17%, respectively.

Alongside its commercial performance, PTCL continued investing in social initiatives. During the period, it partnered with Oladoc to provide free postpartum mental health support, expanded digital and entrepreneurship training for women under the Ba-Ikhtiar programme, supported UNICEF’s polio awareness campaign, continued clean water projects in South Punjab and Thar, and promoted safe internet awareness through PTML’s collaboration with the Telecom Foundation.
