KARACHI :June 8,2026:Sindh is passing through a crucial period. Today, law and order, public safety, investment protection, and social stability require greater attention than ever. Therefore, the efforts of the Sindh government, Sindh Police, and other law-enforcement agencies deserve recognition. These measures show that state institutions understand their responsibilities and remain committed to protecting lives and property.
Recently, Inspector General of Sindh Police, Javed Alam Odho, met the Chinese Consul General. Senior officers, including the DIG Headquarters and AIG Operations, also attended the meeting. During the discussion, both sides reviewed matters of mutual interest and the overall law-and-order situation in the province. Moreover, the Chinese Consul General expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements for Chinese nationals. This acknowledgment reflects growing international confidence in the performance of Sindh Police.
At the same time, IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho reaffirmed that the security of Chinese citizens remains a top priority. More importantly, Sindh Police continues to provide comprehensive protection to Chinese experts, investors, and project personnel working across the province. As a result, the force plays an important role in strengthening Pakistan-China cooperation and safeguarding national interests.
Meanwhile, Shikarpur witnessed a major breakthrough in the fight against crime. Under the leadership of SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem, Sindh Police, Sindh Rangers, and federal intelligence agencies carried out coordinated efforts that led to the surrender of 60 notorious dacoits. Among them was the infamous Belo Teghani, who carried a bounty of Rs100 million, along with several other wanted criminals.
This development marks a significant victory for the writ of the state. It also demonstrates that individuals who once operated beyond the reach of the law now recognize the authority of state institutions. Furthermore, authorities will present all surrendered suspects before the courts, ensuring accountability through legal and constitutional channels.
In response, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar praised DIG Larkana Nasir Aftab and SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem for their efforts. He also pledged to continue operations until lasting peace returns and criminal networks are eliminated from the riverine areas.
At the same time, Sindh Police has intensified preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram. Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan and DIG West Irfan Baloch have led a series of meetings and consultations to ensure effective security arrangements. These efforts highlight the police force’s focus on prevention rather than reaction.
Moreover, police officials continue to engage with religious scholars, procession organizers, traffic authorities, and civil administration representatives. They are reviewing security clearances, entry points, traffic management plans, and encroachment removal measures. Consequently, these steps aim to provide a peaceful and secure environment during Muharram.
In reality, societies do not achieve peace solely through arrests and enforcement. They also need public confidence, investor trust, religious harmony, and effective governance. Therefore, the recent developments in Sindh reflect a broader strategy to strengthen stability and security.
Today, the Chinese Consul General appreciates Sindh Police’s performance. Dangerous criminals are surrendering before the law. At the same time, authorities are making extensive preparations for sensitive religious occasions. Together, these developments present an encouraging picture.
They reflect a Sindh that is steadily moving toward peace and stability. They also show that state institutions remain active, the rule of law continues to strengthen, and public safety has become a practical priority rather than a mere slogan.
