KARACHI (May 18, 2026): Asif Sakhi and Arshad Khurshid congratulated senior journalist and Supreme Council member Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi on receiving Pakistan’s civil award, the “Sitara-i-Imtiaz.” They recognized his services in journalism and his contribution to national trade reporting.
Asif Sakhi said Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi consistently highlighted issues related to trade, transit trade, and regional connectivity. Moreover, he said Sarhadi’s analysis guided the business community and helped policymakers focus on key economic issues.
In addition, Sakhi said Sarhadi’s professional work sets an example for young journalists. Therefore, he described the award as recognition of hard work, integrity, and national service. He also added that the business community views this honor with pride.
Meanwhile, Arshad Khurshid praised Sarhadi’s dual role as a customs agent and journalist. He said Sarhadi regularly raised concerns of the customs and trade sectors. Furthermore, he noted that Sarhadi offered practical suggestions to improve trade facilitation and policymaking.
He added that Sarhadi’s services strengthen the image of Pakistan in national and international trade circles. Consequently, he said the Sitara-i-Imtiaz also honors the entire customs agents’ community.
Finally, both leaders prayed for Sarhadi’s continued success so he may keep serving the country, trade sector, and business community with the same dedication.
