KARACHI, July 21, 2026: Pakistan’s Consul General in China, Sardar Muhammad, described China as Pakistan’s trusted economic partner and said bilateral trade continues to grow. He made the remarks while hosting a dinner for the 17-member trade delegation of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) after its arrival in Guangzhou.
Earlier, Muhammad Imran, Trade and Investment Counsellor at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, welcomed the delegation. During the dinner, participants discussed bilateral trade, agricultural cooperation, ways to increase Pakistani rice exports, and the delegation’s upcoming business meetings in China.
Addressing the gathering, Sardar Muhammad said Pakistani rice has secured a strong position in the Chinese market because of its high quality. He added that trade missions help exporters explore new markets, expand exports, and build long-term business partnerships. He also assured the delegation of the diplomatic mission’s full support to strengthen trade ties between Pakistan and China.
Meanwhile, delegation head Javed Jillani, co-head Rafiq Suleman, and Mahesh Kumar presented a commemorative shield to the Consul General in recognition of the diplomatic mission’s hospitality, cooperation, and guidance. The delegation also thanked the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for supporting the visit. It said the authority’s assistance made the trade mission possible and would help deepen commercial ties with China.
Over the next two days, the delegation will meet leading Chinese trade organizations in Guangzhou, including the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce of Importers and Exporters, China Cooperative Trade Enterprises Association, Guangdong Agribusiness Groups, and Guangzhou International Cooperative.
On July 23, the delegation will travel to Shenzhen to meet Chinese business leaders, the Guangdong Provincial Association of Grain Sector, and Dongguan Tailing Rice Industry Co., Ltd. It will then return to Guangzhou for additional meetings on July 24 before leaving for Beijing for further official and commercial engagements.
The delegation expressed confidence that the visit would create new opportunities for rice and other agricultural exports. It also expects the meetings to foster new business partnerships and further boost Pakistan’s rice exports to China.
The delegation includes Javed Jillani, Rafiq Suleman, Mahesh Kumar, Jitendra Kumar Badlani, Fawad Hamid Ahmed Ghareeb, Mian Ahmed Akbar, Tika Mal, Muhammad Usman Sheikh, Ashok Kumar, Dawood Ali Mahakri, Kapil Dev, Kailash Kumar Panjwani, Muhammad Huzair Sheikh, Sachin J. Ukrani, Nida Tirmizi, Syed Tabrezuddin Chishti, and Arif Ali Khan.
