ISLAMABAD, July 29, 2026: Pakistan defeated Bangladesh to win the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship 2026, while Zong marked the country’s historic triumph as the tournament’s official title partner.
The six-nation championship featured teams from Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, and host nation Pakistan. The tournament concluded on July 29 after a week of competition that highlighted regional sporting talent and cooperation.
The championship began on July 22 with an opening ceremony attended by officials from the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA), the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), government representatives, and corporate partners.
At the closing ceremony, Zong Head of Marketing Sajid Munir joined CAVA and PVF officials in presenting the championship trophy to the Pakistan team following its 3-0 victory over Bangladesh in the final.
Munir said Zong invested in volleyball to support a sport that enjoys growing popularity among Pakistan’s youth. He added that the company aims to broaden sports sponsorship beyond traditional games while using its 5G network to enhance the fan experience through real-time connectivity and digital engagement.
He said Pakistan’s title-winning performance marked a historic moment for the country, adding that Zong remains committed to supporting sports as part of its vision of building an AI-powered and digitally connected Pakistan.
PVF Chairman Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob said Zong’s title sponsorship played an important role in strengthening the championship and promoting youth development, regional cooperation, and international sporting excellence. He added that the event also showcased Pakistan’s ability to successfully host major international tournaments.
