KARACHI, May 20, 2026: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a Rs.75 commemorative coin to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The move highlights decades of friendship, cooperation, and strategic partnership between the two countries.
The SBP will release the coin to the public on May 25, 2026. It will be available at the exchange counters of the State Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation field offices.
Pakistan and China established diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951. Since then, both countries have steadily expanded cooperation in political, economic, and development sectors.
In terms of design, the SBP has minted the coin in copper-nickel. It contains 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel. The coin is round in shape, with milled edges and serration. It measures 36.0 mm in diameter and weighs 19.0 grams.
On the obverse side, the SBP places a waxing crescent moon and a five-pointed star at the center. It prints “ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN” along the upper edge in Urdu. It also adds the year “2026” above wheat sprigs below the crescent. In addition, it displays the face value “75” prominently, along with “RUPIA” in Urdu on both sides of the central design.
On the reverse side, the SBP highlights the commemorative theme. It engraves “75TH ANNIVERSARY OF PAKISTAN AND CHINA DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS” along the upper edge. It adds “TRUST FRIENDSHIP SUPPORT” along the lower edge. At the center, it features the national flags of Pakistan and China with the numeral “75.” It also includes the years “1951” and “2026” on both sides. Furthermore, it inscribes Urdu and Chinese text to reflect 75 years of friendship, trust, and cooperation.
Officials said the coin reflects the strong and enduring partnership between Islamabad and Beijing. They added that it also honors a relationship that continues to grow across multiple strategic areas.
