KARACHI, August 10, 2026: Workers’ remittances to Pakistan reached $3.6 billion in July 2026, rising 13% year-on-year and 4.5% month-on-month, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Monday.
The July inflow marks a strong start to fiscal year 2026-27. Remittances stood at $3.2 billion in July 2025, while inflows during June 2026 were lower than the latest monthly figure.
Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances during July, sending $913.9 million. The United Arab Emirates followed with $737.3 million, while overseas Pakistanis in the United Kingdom sent $555.5 million.
Remittances from the United States reached $317.2 million during the month.
The latest figures show continued growth in inflows from major overseas destinations. Stronger remittances can also support Pakistan’s foreign exchange position and help strengthen the country’s external account.
The increase comes as Pakistan continues efforts to promote formal channels for overseas workers to send money home.
The SBP has set a remittance target of around $44 billion for FY27, following record inflows of approximately $41.6 billion during FY26.
The strong July performance provides a positive start to the new fiscal year and highlights the continued importance of overseas Pakistanis to Pakistan’s economy.
