KARACHI ,May 21 2026 : The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye has announced the theme of Turkish Cuisine Week 2026 as “The Heritage Table.” It highlights cultural stories, traditions, and shared memories preserved through Turkish cuisine.
Moreover, Turkish Cuisine Week will run from 21 to 27 May 2026 across Türkiye and at Turkish embassies and cultural centres worldwide. First Lady H.E. Emine Erdoğan will oversee the event. In addition, the week will showcase Türkiye’s culinary heritage and its role in connecting cultures.
This year, organizers will present Turkish cuisine as more than food. Instead, they will frame it as a living cultural heritage shaped by migration, rituals, and shared experiences. As a result, the programme will focus on cultural depth rather than just dishes.
Furthermore, planned activities will include communal dining, chef collaborations, traditional cooking demonstrations, and showcases of historic recipes and techniques.
Meanwhile, H.E. İrfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, hosted a dinner at the Turkish Embassy Residence on May 20, 2026, to mark the occasion. He said Turkish Cuisine Week reflects the spirit of hospitality and cultural heritage shared with Pakistan.
He added that the “sofra,” or dining table, represents unity and togetherness. In addition, he highlighted Turkish cuisine’s healthy, traditional, and zero-waste character.
Finally, featured dishes include mantı, tandır, dolma, baklava, and helva. Each dish reflects a distinct part of Türkiye’s culinary identity.
Overall, cultural authorities said Turkish Cuisine Week continues to strengthen global cultural exchange and promote Türkiye’s gastronomic traditions worldwide.
