KARACHI, September 8, 2026: easypaisa digital bank and KTrade have partnered to make stock market investment easier and more accessible for millions of Pakistanis.
Under the partnership, easypaisa users can open a KTrade Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) investment account directly through the easypaisa app. The fully digital process allows users to complete account onboarding in around 10 minutes.
The initiative aims to remove traditional barriers such as paperwork and lengthy account-opening procedures. It is also expected to encourage greater public participation in Pakistan’s capital markets.
The partnership was formally unveiled during a ceremony in Islamabad last week. Senior officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL), Central Depository Company (CDC), easypaisa and KTrade attended the event.
The collaboration has already achieved a major milestone. According to the companies, easypaisa and KTrade recorded the highest number of investment accounts opened in a single day in PSX history.
Speaking at the ceremony, easypaisa digital bank President and CEO Jahanzeb Khan said the partnership would expand the company’s financial services beyond payments and banking.
He said the initiative would allow users to access Pakistan’s capital markets through a simple, secure and fully digital process.
Khan also appreciated the support of SECP, NCCPL and CDC in digitising the onboarding process for brokerage accounts. He said the move could help millions of Pakistanis enter the formal investment market.
KTrade CEO Mahmood Ali Shah Bukhari said accessibility and convenience would shape the future of investing.
He said the partnership with easypaisa would bring stock market investment closer to millions of Pakistanis and provide them with easier access to wealth creation opportunities.
NCCPL representatives also highlighted the role of digital innovation in increasing investor participation and strengthening Pakistan’s financial ecosystem.
Meanwhile, CDC was recognised for supporting the infrastructure and coordination required to launch the initiative.
The partnership is part of wider efforts to increase retail participation in Pakistan’s capital markets. It also supports the adoption of digital financial services and aims to create new investment opportunities for underserved segments of society.
With digital account opening and simplified onboarding, easypaisa and KTrade aim to encourage a new generation of investors to participate in the stock market.
The initiative is particularly significant for users who may have previously found traditional investment processes difficult or inaccessible.
easypaisa currently has more than 60 million registered users. The company also describes itself as Pakistan’s first digital bank to commence commercial operations.
The digital bank said it would continue expanding its financial products and services for both existing customers and people who remain unbanked or underbanked.
Through its partnership with KTrade, easypaisa is now extending its digital financial ecosystem into stock market investments, potentially giving millions of users a simpler route to participate in Pakistan’s capital markets.
