RIYADH, August 10, 2026: Saudia Group Director General Engineer Ibrahim AlOmar has met a delegation from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to explore opportunities for cooperation in the aviation sector and discuss strategic projects supporting Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a global aviation and logistics hub.
The meeting took place in coordination with the Saudi-Pakistani Joint Business Council, chaired by Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud.
During the visit, the PIA delegation also toured several Saudia Group subsidiaries. The visit provided the delegation with an insight into the group’s integrated maintenance and training capabilities.
Saudia said these capabilities rely heavily on Saudi talent. They also support the development of national expertise and strengthen the competitiveness of Saudi Arabia’s aviation industry.
Moreover, the initiatives align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to expand the Kingdom’s aviation and logistics sectors.
The meeting comes as Saudia continues to strengthen its operational performance. According to the latest monthly report by global aviation analytics firm Cirium, Saudia ranked as the world’s top-performing airline for on-time arrivals in July 2026.
The Saudi national carrier recorded an on-time arrival rate of 87.24% across 16,406 flights during the month. It therefore secured the highest position among airlines worldwide.
Saudia achieved the performance during the busy summer travel season, when airlines faced higher passenger demand and increased operational pressure.
The airline attributed the result to coordinated efforts across the Saudia Group, close cooperation with aviation partners and airport authorities, and the use of advanced digital technologies.
It also highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in operational planning, decision-making and daily flight management.
