August 13, 2026 — Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) remained mostly positive during Thursday’s trading session, supported by a decline in crude oil prices. However, selling pressure emerged in the final hours as investors turned cautious ahead of the long weekend.
The KSE-100 Index closed at 180,105 points, down 0.11% from the previous session.
FFC, SRVI, HBL and PPL were the leading positive contributors, collectively adding 236 points to the benchmark index.
Meanwhile, ENGROH, SYS, MEBL, HMB and POL remained the major negative contributors, collectively dragging the index down by 286 points.
Trading activity remained strong, with CNERGY recording the highest traded value at Rs3.32 billion. It was followed by PPL with Rs1.6 billion, ATRL with Rs1.37 billion, PSO with Rs1.26 billion and INDU with Rs1.21 billion.
Overall, 888 million shares changed hands during the session, while the total traded value stood at approximately Rs37 billion.
The market’s marginal decline reflected cautious investor sentiment, with profit-taking and pre-holiday positioning limiting further gains despite support from lower crude oil prices.
