ISLAMABAD, May 20, 2025: Mobilink Bank partnered with Legal Aid Society under its CSR programme to strengthen women’s inheritance rights and climate resilience in Pakistan. The bank expanded its “The Invisible Heirs” campaign to support women in claiming their legal and rightful inheritance.
Mobilink Bank actively funded legal support for women facing inheritance disputes. In addition, it covered cases linked to climate impacts, such as displacement, loss of documents, and disaster-related exclusion. It also supported non-climate cases involving denial or forced surrender of inheritance rights.
Moreover, the initiative provided case assessment, legal documentation support, court representation, and follow-up assistance until resolution. As a result, women gained end-to-end legal support through a structured process.
Commenting on the initiative, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary said financial empowerment requires more than access to banking. Therefore, he stressed that women must also gain access to their rightful assets and financial agency. He added that the partnership helps women secure what belongs to them and strengthens long-term economic resilience.
Meanwhile, Haya Emaan Zahid said access to justice directly supports economic empowerment. Furthermore, she noted that inheritance ensures dignity, security, and independence for women. She appreciated Mobilink Bank’s support in expanding legal access for excluded communities.
In addition, Mobilink Bank extended its digital efforts through its “Dost App.” It introduced Pakistan’s first in-app inheritance calculator, which helps women estimate their rightful shares in a simple and Shariah-compliant way.
Similarly, Legal Aid Society continued its work in legal awareness and representation. Over the years, it reached millions through awareness campaigns, handled hundreds of thousands of legal queries, and represented thousands of cases across Pakistan.
Overall, both organizations strengthened their shared goal of improving access to justice. Consequently, the initiative supports women’s legal rights, financial inclusion, and long-term economic resilience.
