Islamabad, August 7, 2025: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) organized an awareness seminar in Karachi focusing on Pakistan’s lube oil sector. The event aimed to foster dialogue between OGRA and lubricant manufacturers, while enhancing understanding of blending and reclamation processes, base oil management, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) practices, and waste disposal systems. The seminar served as a platform to introduce and exchange modern techniques and best practices within the industry.
The seminar featured participation from OGRA Authority members and leading industry experts who shared insights and presented on various key topics. Attendees included OGRA licensees operating in lube blending, reclamation, grease, and transformer oil plants.
Chairman OGRA, Mr. Masroor Khan, addressed the participants via Zoom, emphasizing the importance of innovation in the sector and reaffirming OGRA’s focus on enhancing safety and promoting digitization. Member (Oil), Mr. Zain ul Abideen Qureshi, lauded the efforts of the OGRA team, welcomed all stakeholders, and highlighted the seminar’s objective of raising awareness about the regulatory framework governing the lube oil sector. He also encouraged stakeholders to embrace innovation for improved productivity and efficiency.

The presentations covered a wide range of topics such as conventional and modern blending technologies, existing reclamation systems, health and safety standards in lube blending plants, and the pivotal role of HDIP in maintaining industry standards.
OGRA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting a safe, efficient, and innovative lube oil sector, and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with stakeholders to ensure sustainability and regulatory compliance.
