KARACHI, July 4,2026: The Pakistan Banks Association (PBA) has announced the second Pakistan Banking Summit 2026 (PBS’26), which will take place in Karachi on July 7-8.

The summit will bring together policymakers, regulators, bankers, business leaders and international experts to discuss the future of Pakistan’s financial sector and the country’s economic priorities.

Following the success of its inaugural edition, PBS’26 will serve as the banking industry’s flagship platform for policy dialogue, knowledge sharing and collaboration.

PBA announced the summit at a press conference attended by Atif Bajwa, Chairman of the PBS Steering Committee and President & CEO of Bank Alfalah; Zafar Masud, Chairman of PBA and President & CEO of The Bank of Punjab; and Muneer Kamal, CEO and Secretary General of PBA. Other steering committee members also attended the event.

Over two days, the summit will host nine thematic sessions covering key issues, including the economic outlook, financing for agriculture, SMEs and affordable housing, digital banking, digital payments, climate finance, Islamic banking, capital markets and future leadership.

The event is expected to attract more than 1,200 participants, including government officials, regulators, banking executives, corporate leaders, academics and development partners.

In addition, the summit will feature over 15 international speakers, more than 20 local experts, and representatives from 48 financial institutions. It will also include a special video address by Syed Babar Ali, Founding Pro-Chancellor of LUMS.

Confirmed keynote speakers include Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmad, and Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani.

Speaking at the press conference, Atif Bajwa said the summit comes at a crucial time, immediately after the federal budget. He said PBS’26 will move discussions beyond policy announcements and focus on implementation, collaboration and practical solutions.

Meanwhile, Zafar Masud said the summit will unite the banking industry’s leadership with policymakers, regulators and global partners on a single platform. He added that the event will help build consensus and shape the future of Pakistan’s financial sector.

Muneer Kamal said the summit reflects the banking sector’s commitment to innovation, collaboration and continuous learning. He added that the discussions will generate practical ideas, strengthen partnerships and support a more resilient and future-ready financial ecosystem.

The PBA said PBS’26 aims to deepen public-private engagement, encourage meaningful policy dialogue and support Pakistan’s long-term economic development through a stronger and more inclusive financial system.
