KARACHI, July 1, 2026: Telenor Pakistan has officially merged into Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), which operates as Ufone 5G, following final approval from the Islamabad High Court. The merger takes effect from July 2026, completing one of Pakistan’s largest telecom sector transactions.
With the merger now complete, Telenor Pakistan will cease to exist as a separate legal entity. Instead, PTML will take over its operations, network infrastructure, and customer base.
As a result, the combined company will gain a larger subscriber base, stronger spectrum resources, and greater capacity to invest in next-generation connectivity and digital services across Pakistan.
PTCL President and CEO Hatem Bamatraf described the merger as a landmark achievement for both the company and Pakistan’s telecom industry. He thanked the Government of Pakistan, regulatory authorities, customers, and employees for supporting the transition and helping complete the process.
He added that the unified company aims to deliver innovative products and services while setting new standards for digital experiences in Pakistan.
Going forward, PTML, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTCL, will continue operating under the Ufone 5G brand. The company plans to expand 5G coverage, strengthen digital infrastructure, and improve services for millions of users nationwide.
Meanwhile, Ufone 5G assured customers that services for both Ufone and former Telenor Pakistan subscribers will continue without disruption during the integration process. It also promised better connectivity and an enhanced digital experience as the merger progresses.
