Zong Partners with WWF Pakistan and ISPES to Mark Plastic Free July with Hawksbay Clean-Up

Karachi, July 26, 2026: As the global Plastic Free July campaign concluded, Zong partnered with WWF Pakistan and Integrated Waste Management Solution (ISPES) to organize a coastal clean-up drive at Hawksbay, Karachi. The initiative brought together employees, volunteers, and environmental advocates to reduce plastic pollution, protect Pakistan’s coastal ecosystem, and promote responsible waste management.

The clean-up reflects Zong’s commitment to environmental sustainability through practical, community-driven initiatives. Moreover, the campaign raised awareness about marine pollution and highlighted the importance of collective action and multi-stakeholder partnerships in preserving Pakistan’s coastline.

Meanwhile, ISPES ensured the responsible handling of the collected waste. It transported the materials for segregation and processing, while recyclable plastic was sent to its upcycling facility. This approach supported circular economy practices, reduced landfill waste, and transformed collected plastic into reusable resources.

Commenting on the initiative, Nabila Yazdani, Head of Strategy, Corporate Communications & Sustainability at Zong, said, “Sustainable development demands innovation, strategic collaboration, and meaningful community engagement. Through our partnership with WWF Pakistan and ISPES, we are promoting responsible waste management, supporting circular economy practices, and encouraging collective action to protect Pakistan’s coastal and natural ecosystems.”

Zong reaffirmed its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint, improving resource efficiency, and embedding sustainable practices across its operations. Furthermore, the company said it will continue working with strategic partners to drive meaningful environmental impact and help build a cleaner, greener, and more resilient Pakistan.
