KARACHI, June 30, 2026: North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) President Faisal Moez Khan has termed India’s proposed 7,250-megawatt hydropower network a form of “water aggression” against Pakistan. He said Pakistan will not compromise on its water rights, national interests, or food security under any circumstances.
Speaking to the media at a Haleem gathering at his residence, Faisal Moez Khan said Pakistan’s economy, agriculture, industry, employment, and food security depend heavily on river water. Therefore, he added, any attempt to interfere with Pakistan’s rightful share of water is unacceptable.
He urged the Government of Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to present Pakistan’s position more effectively at international forums. Furthermore, he called for a strong defense of the Indus Waters Treaty, international water laws, and the rights of lower riparian states at upcoming global conferences.
He also urged India to honor international agreements instead of increasing regional tensions. Moreover, he warned that using water as a political tool could threaten regional peace and the future of millions of people.
Separately, Faisal Moez Khan condemned the terrorist attack on the Pakistan Rangers headquarters. He paid tribute to the Rangers personnel who embraced martyrdom and praised their courage and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He said the nation would always remember their dedication and service.
