KARACHI, Aug. 7, 2026: Karandaaz Pakistan has partnered with Kissan Gudam, a venture of the Hajisons Group, to expand digital financing and modern storage solutions for smallholder farmers across Pakistan.
The collaboration aims to reduce post-harvest losses, improve market access, and strengthen financial inclusion by combining hermetic storage technology, digital financial services, and Electronic Warehouse Receipt (EWR)-based financing. Farmers will be able to use stored produce as collateral to access quick and fair credit.
Under the partnership, Kissan Gudam will expand its GrainPro hermetic storage network in rural areas. The portable storage system helps preserve crop quality, lowers transportation costs, and increases the value of stored produce.
Karandaaz CEO Waqas ul Hasan said Pakistan’s agriculture sector needs better infrastructure and stronger market linkages alongside access to finance. He added that the initiative can improve farmer incomes, support food security, and modernize the country’s agricultural value chain.
Kissan Gudam CEO Farhan Tahir said the partnership will help farmers protect the value of their crops, access formal financing, and connect with better markets, creating stronger and more sustainable livelihoods.
Co-Founder and CTO Anam Tahir said the platform links a digital wallet with warehouse infrastructure, enabling produce to be verified and used as collateral. This allows farmers to receive collateral-backed financing within minutes instead of weeks.
The signing ceremony was attended by Tom A. Peter, Economic Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, who described the initiative as a strong example of U.S.-Pakistan collaboration in agriculture through the use of GrainPro’s storage technology.
Together, Karandaaz Pakistan and Kissan Gudam aim to digitally transform Pakistan’s agricultural sector by expanding farmers’ access to modern storage, financial services, and better market opportunities.
