KARACHI, Aug. 7, 2026: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), in collaboration with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), has completed a major clean drinking water initiative, providing safe and sustainable water access to more than 150,000 people across South Punjab and Sindh.
The project targets communities where water sources were damaged or contaminated by the 2024 floods. It includes climate-resilient solutions such as Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, rainwater harvesting systems, bio-sand filters, hand pumps, and tube wells to ensure long-term access to safe drinking water.
The initiative builds on PTCL’s earlier clean water project in Thar, which benefited over 15,000 people. Encouraged by its success, the company expanded the program to reach more vulnerable communities with improved water infrastructure.
PTCL said the project reflects its commitment to supporting national development and addressing critical social and environmental challenges. The initiative also coincides with Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day and PTCL’s 79 years of service.
PTCL CEO Nadeem Khan said access to clean drinking water is a basic human need and that the company remains committed to improving lives through meaningful community partnerships.
PPAF CEO Nader Gul Barech said the collaboration strengthens community resilience and supports sustainable development by expanding access to safe water in climate-affected areas.
The project is part of PTCL’s DilSe sustainability platform, which focuses on digital inclusion, community welfare, and economic resilience.
