Karachi, October 27, 2025: Pakistan’s local mobile manufacturing and assembly sector posted strong growth in September 2025, with output rising 55% month-on-month (MoM) and 40% year-on-year (YoY), according to the latest data from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Local companies produced 3.01 million mobile units during the month, reflecting both recovering consumer demand and the impact of new smartphone launches. The YoY growth came on a low comparison base, as September 2024 saw muted sales following heavy pre-buying in June ahead of budget changes.

The MoM increase was primarily driven by pent-up demand, with consumers delaying purchases in anticipation of new model releases. Major brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, and Infinix launched their latest models — including the Galaxy S25 FE, Redmi 15 series, and Infinix Note 40X 5G — during the month, fueling a surge in replacement and upgrade activity.
During the first nine months of 2025, 22.78 million locally manufactured/assembled units were sold, up 1% YoY. Of these, 48% (10.86 million) were 2G phones, while 52% (11.92 million) were smartphones. Local production met 94% of Pakistan’s total mobile demand in the period.

Analysts expect mobile phone sales to grow 7–8% YoY over the next 12 months, supported by a stable rupee, easing inflation, and improving consumer purchasing power.
In the listed space, Airlink Communication (AIRLINK) and Lucky Cement (LUCK) are likely to benefit most, as their assembled brands — Tecno, Xiaomi, and Samsung — continue to rank among Pakistan’s top sellers.
