Bank Alfalah Posts 40% Rise in H1 2026 Profit, Declares Interim Dividend

KARACHI, July 30, 2026: Bank Alfalah Limited (BAFL) reported a 39.6% year-on-year increase in profit after tax for the first half of 2026, supported by higher capital gains, improved net interest income, and growth in non-funded income.

The bank said its board of directors approved the financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, and declared a second interim cash dividend of Rs1.5 per share (30%). This brings the total cash dividend for the first half of the year to Rs3.0 per share (60%), compared with Rs2.5 per share (50%) in the same period last year.

Profit after tax rose to Rs21.32 billion, while earnings per share increased to Rs6.76 from Rs4.84 a year earlier.

The bank attributed the earnings growth mainly to capital gains, alongside higher net interest income and effective cost management.

Meanwhile, total deposits increased to Rs2.66 trillion, while current deposits reached Rs1.15 trillion, reflecting the bank’s continued focus on strengthening its low-cost deposit base.

Gross advances stood at Rs1.16 trillion, supported by broad-based growth in consumer, SME, and agriculture financing.

Net interest income (NII) increased 5% due to improved spreads and steady growth in average current account deposits.

In addition, non-funded income climbed 46%, driven by capital gains, higher foreign exchange income, and increased fee income from remittances, card services, trade finance, government-to-person (G2P) schemes, and digital banking channels.

The bank’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) stood at 17.4% as of June 30, 2026, remaining well above the regulatory minimum.
