KARACHI, Aug. 5: Karachi Mayor’s spokesperson Karamullah Waqasi said the city administration will not compromise on the quality, transparency, or timely completion of development projects. He added that improving civic services and resolving water and sewerage issues remain top priorities under Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab.
Speaking after a review meeting at the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC), Waqasi said authorities are taking practical steps to address long-standing public issues across Baldia Town and other parts of Karachi. He added that departments have been directed to maintain high construction standards and speed up ongoing projects.
Furthermore, officials reviewed the progress of water supply, sewerage, rehabilitation, and infrastructure schemes. They also discussed operational challenges and future planning to improve service delivery.
Later, Waqasi met Baldia Town union committee chairmen and KWSC engineers to review civic complaints and assess the progress of development work. Officials briefed participants on measures to accelerate project completion.
He said all departments have been instructed to closely monitor projects, complete them on schedule, and provide prompt relief to residents by resolving civic complaints without delay.
Waqasi reaffirmed the Pakistan Peoples Party’s commitment to Karachi’s development. He said regular monitoring will ensure public welfare projects are completed efficiently and citizens receive better municipal services. He added that the city leadership remains focused on building a modern, well-planned, and sustainable Karachi.
