KARACHI, Aug. 4, 2026: Spotify reported strong second-quarter 2026 results, becoming the first audio streaming platform to surpass 300 million Premium subscribers.
The company said Premium subscribers increased 9% year-on-year to 300 million, while Monthly Active Users (MAUs) rose 12% to 777 million.
Furthermore, total revenue grew 14% year-on-year to €4.8 billion, while gross margin improved to a record 33.4%. Operating income reached €655 million, reflecting continued growth in profitability.
Spotify attributed the strong performance to ongoing investments in new features that enhance music and podcast discovery while strengthening engagement for users, artists, creators, authors, and partners.
Co-CEO Alex Norström said Spotify has reached a scale achieved by few companies and remains well-positioned for future growth. He added that the platform continues to play an important role throughout users’ daily lives, creating significant opportunities for expansion.
Meanwhile, Co-CEO Gustav Söderström said the company is building its long-term vision through faster product development, stronger engineering, and new user experiences. He added that Spotify will continue investing in technologies that deliver greater value for users and stakeholders alike.
