KMC Finalizes Rabi-ul-Awwal Arrangements Across Karachi, Says Karamullah Waqasi

KARACHI:July 29,2026: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is finalizing comprehensive civic arrangements to facilitate Rabi-ul-Awwal celebrations across the city, said Karachi Mayor’s Spokesperson and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Parliamentary Leader in KMC, Karamullah Waqasi.

He said the holy month of Rabi-ul-Awwal symbolizes spirituality, mercy, and devotion for Muslims worldwide. It also marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), whose teachings continue to inspire peace, justice, compassion, brotherhood, and moral excellence.

Representing the vision of Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Waqasi said providing the best municipal services during the blessed month is both a responsibility and an honor for KMC. He added that the corporation is completing citywide civic arrangements ahead of the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal to ensure smooth religious observances.

Furthermore, Waqasi said the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) remains the finest example of justice, public service, tolerance, unity, and noble character. He urged citizens to follow these teachings in both their personal and public lives.

Meanwhile, KMC is consulting religious scholars, community leaders, and organizers of Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) processions to ensure uninterrupted municipal services throughout the celebrations.

On the directions of Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, KMC aims to open the under-construction Korangi No. 5 Flyover to traffic by August 15. In addition, the corporation has issued tenders worth Rs200 million for development projects across Karachi, including sanitation, road repairs, and civic infrastructure improvements.

Waqasi also announced that KMC will redevelop Karachi’s historic Regal Chowk as Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk. The project will include decorative lighting, beautification, and enhanced cleanliness during Rabi-ul-Awwal to reflect the religious significance of the occasion.

He reaffirmed KMC’s commitment to providing a clean, organized, and citizen-friendly environment throughout the holy month. He added that the corporation will continue working to ensure Karachiites can observe Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with devotion, dignity, and convenience.
