A new academic partnership between the University of Leicester and University of Central Punjab introduces a UK-Pakistan dual-degree programme, allowing students to split studies between Lahore and Britain.
Under the agreement, UCP students will pursue UK-accredited bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Data Analytics or Accounting and Finance through a structured four-year academic pathway.
Students will complete their first two years at the Lahore-based University of Central Punjab before transferring to the University of Leicester for the remaining two years.

He said the agreement represents the first formal partnership between Leicester’s School of Business and UCP, laying foundations for deeper academic and institutional cooperation.
Professor Ladley added that both universities aim to create meaningful opportunities for students and staff while strengthening educational links between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
From the Pakistani side, UCP Pro-Rector Professor Hammad Naveed welcomed the partnership, highlighting the university’s longstanding commitment to international academic engagement.
He noted that UCP has actively pursued global collaborations since the 1990s to enhance learning quality, research capacity, and international exposure for students.
Professor Naveed described UCP as one of Pakistan’s leading universities, citing its industry-linked curriculum, modern facilities, and strong emphasis on innovation and knowledge creation.
He said the Leicester–UCP dual degree programme aligns with UCP’s vision of preparing graduates for global careers through internationally benchmarked education.
The agreement also opens possibilities for future collaboration in research initiatives, faculty exchange programmes, and joint academic activities between both institutions.
Education experts say such transnational programmes can help Pakistani students reduce costs while gaining overseas degrees, improving employability in competitive global markets.
The partnership is expected to attract strong interest from students seeking internationally recognised business qualifications without immediately relocating abroad.
