EV charging network to build across Pakistan soon

Karachi, October 04, 2025: Pakistan’s shift toward cleaner transportation gained momentum as Malik Group of Companies and Fossil Energy & Petroleum signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to install Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations across Fossil Energy’s national network of fuel stations.

The signing ceremony, held in Karachi, was attended by Malik Khuda Baksh, Chairman of Malik Group, and Shehzad Mohsin, CEO of Fossil Energy, marking a significant push toward an integrated, modern, and environmentally responsible energy ecosystem in Pakistan.

Under the agreement, Malik Group will deploy EV charging infrastructure at all Fossil Energy fuel stations, accelerating the country’s readiness for rising EV demand. Malik Khuda Baksh emphasized the urgency of transitioning to cleaner mobility, noting that Pakistan’s EV penetration is expected to exceed 30% by 2030.

He shared that the Group, in partnership with Chinese investors from ADM Group, has already begun installing EV charging equipment across Sindh. “This MoU is a major step in our commitment to a greener, smarter future for Pakistan,” he remarked.

The event was attended by senior executives, including Hassan Abbas, General Manager of Fossil Energy; Saleem Chamdia, Chairman of Clover Pakistan; and Malik Enterprises representatives Zahidullah Ghumman (COO) and Zeeshan Hanif (GM).

Fossil Energy CEO Shehzad Mohsin said the collaboration will allow both companies to offer a one-stop energy solution, combining traditional fuels with state-of-the-art EV charging facilities. “Together, we are laying the groundwork for a sustainable and energy-resilient Pakistan,” he said, adding that both firms are currently in the early stages of network expansion but see strong long-term potential.

The partnership aims to position Pakistan for the next era of transportation, providing consumers with reliable, accessible, and nationwide EV charging infrastructure.
