Karachi, November 4, 2025: TikTok has rolled out a new suite of family-focused safety tools in Pakistan, reinforcing its commitment to responsible digital use and healthier online habits among teens.
The update builds on the platform’s earlier Family Pairing feature, offering parents deeper control over how their children use the app.

Through Family Pairing, parents can now manage daily screen-time limits, schedule app breaks, restrict direct messaging, adjust account discoverability, and control who can comment on or download videos.
Direct messaging remains disabled by default for users aged 16 and under, and push notifications are muted during nighttime. Teens under 18 automatically receive a 60-minute daily screen-time limit, while TikTok filters out content deemed inappropriate, using verification tools to ensure age-correct experiences.
Parents in Pakistan can now view their child’s privacy settings and receive notifications when a teen posts a public video, fostering more open conversations on healthy digital behaviour.
TikTok emphasizes that these tools are not merely parental controls but mechanisms to encourage dialogue, self-awareness, and digital responsibility.

Earlier this year, TikTok expanded its well-being initiatives with an in-app Guided Meditation feature. Integrated with the platform’s Sleep Hours setting, it offers calming exercises to help users wind down.
For teens under 18, the feature activates automatically after 10 p.m., replacing the For You feed with a meditation prompt to promote better screen-time habits.

TikTok says its ecosystem now includes over 50 built-in safeguards, from age-appropriate filters to restricted messaging, alongside its Digital Safety Partnership for Families, which offers resources for parents navigating online risks.
By enhancing trust and safety features, the platform aims to help teens “explore, create, and connect meaningfully — in a safe digital environment.”
