KARACHI, Aug. 3, 2026: Pakistan’s cement dispatches rose 6.02% year-on-year to 4.476 million tonnes in July 2026, driven by strong domestic demand, while exports fell nearly 30%, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
Local cement dispatches increased 17.28% to 3.771 million tonnes from 3.215 million tonnes in the same month last year. However, exports dropped 29.95% to 705,341 tonnes from 1.007 million tonnes.
Meanwhile, north-based mills dispatched 3.092 million tonnes, up 9.46% from a year earlier. In contrast, south-based mills recorded a slight 0.95% decline, dispatching 1.383 million tonnes.
Domestic sales remained strong across both regions. North-based mills supplied 3.092 million tonnes to local markets, up 19.25%, while south-based mills increased local dispatches by 9.07% to 678,147 tonnes.
However, export performance weakened significantly. North-based mills made no exports during July 2026, compared with 231,985 tonnes a year earlier. Likewise, exports from south-based mills declined 8.98% to 705,341 tonnes.
An APCMA spokesperson urged the government to reduce duties and taxes on cement to support construction activity and benefit consumers. The association also called for relief measures to rehabilitate areas affected by heavy rains, describing cement as an essential commodity rather than a luxury item.
