Rotary District 3271 Installs Shahzad Sabir as Governor, Launches Centenary Service Initiatives

KARACHI July 6,2026: Rotary International District 3271 launched its 2026-27 Rotary year by installing Shahzad Sabir as District Governor during a ceremony at the PC Hotel Karachi. The event drew more than 1,000 Rotarians, diplomats, business leaders, development professionals and community representatives from Pakistan and abroad.

During the ceremony, Rotary District 3271 unveiled several flagship projects for the new year. These include the Million Trees Project, District Medical Outreach Programme, expanded Polio Immunization campaigns, Pink Washrooms for women and girls, Hearing Aid initiatives, Breast Cancer Awareness programmes, and the expansion of Rotary Pakistan Smart Villages to improve healthcare, education, livelihoods, digital access and environmental sustainability.

Another major highlight was the launch of the commemorative book, “100 Years of Rotary Service in Pakistan,” which documents a century of Rotary’s humanitarian work across the country.

Syed Kashif Rafi, who led the book’s compilation, officially launched the publication alongside senior Rotary leaders. The dignitaries later presented a special hardbound edition to Jennifer A. Scott, Director 2025-27 of Rotary International, to mark Rotary’s centennial service in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Rotary District 3271 also launched its official website and mobile application to strengthen communication, governance, volunteer engagement and service reporting.

Jennifer A. Scott attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Other senior Rotary leaders from Pakistan and overseas also participated.

Earlier, the district formally installed Assistant Governors, Club Presidents, Secretaries and District Chairs for the new Rotary year, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to stronger leadership across Sindh and Balochistan.

In his inaugural address, Shahzad Sabir reaffirmed Rotary’s commitment to expanding sustainable community service through stronger partnerships, youth engagement and innovative projects addressing healthcare, education, social welfare and environmental challenges.

Rotary District 3271 continues to serve communities throughout Sindh and Balochistan through projects focused on education, healthcare, economic development, environmental conservation, peacebuilding and polio eradication
