Speaking during a live recording of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Oscar-winning actor said she often finds it easier to film close or romantic scenes with unfamiliar co-stars rather than with close friends.

Lawrence compared her experience working with Robert Pattinson on the upcoming film Die My Love to filming kissing scenes with longtime friend and Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson. According to her, familiarity can sometimes heighten discomfort rather than reduce it.

She explained that emotional distance helps remove personal awkwardness, noting that filming intimate scenes with a stranger can feel more straightforward and professional. Lawrence said the contrast between the two experiences was clear, describing scenes with friends as noticeably more uncomfortable.

Although the production involved an intimacy coordinator, Lawrence has previously said she did not feel a strong reliance on one during filming. In an earlier interview on the Las Culturistas podcast, she emphasized that she felt safe and respected while working with Pattinson.
