KARACHI May 13, 2026: Former Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Shabnam Zafar, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of renowned businesswoman and former Member of the National Assembly Begum Salma Ahmed.
It is worth mentioning that Begum Salma Ahmed passed away yesterday at the age of 85. She was laid to rest beside her parents at the Tariq Road graveyard. She was the wife of former cricketer and former captain Saeed Ahmed.
Paying tribute to the late Begum Salma Ahmed, Shabnam Zafar said that the deceased played a significant role in bringing women into the field of business and also made a remarkable mark in the ship-breaking industry.
She further stated that Begum Salma Ahmed played an important role in introducing products made by women entrepreneurs at the international level.
Describing her death as an irreparable loss for the country, Shabnam Zafar extended condolences to her sons Arif Janjua, Murtaza Hussain Qureshi, and Farhad Ahmed, as well as her daughters Fozia Ahmed and Sabiha Ahmed.
