Emirates Launches Industry-First Travel Insurance with Conflict-Related Medical Cover

KARACHI, June 18, 2026: Emirates launches the world’s first Comprehensive Travel Cover. With this move, it becomes the first airline to offer insurance that includes medical cover for conflict-related incidents. In addition, it provides airline-managed hotel stays and extended support during major travel disruptions.

Moreover, Emirates rebooks passengers at no extra cost when disruptions occur. This includes flight cancellations due to conflict or operational unavailability. It also arranges alternative connections, including partner airlines, so passengers can still reach their destinations.

Meanwhile, the new plan expands Emirates’ existing travel protection. It combines enhanced medical coverage, backed by Travel Guard, with stronger disruption support. As a result, travellers gain greater confidence and improved peace of mind when booking.

Furthermore, Emirates provides hotel accommodation during major disruptions, including airspace closures, as part of its duty of care. It also continues flexible booking options, such as free date changes on eligible tickets and a 24-hour “Hold My Fare” option at no cost.

Customers can purchase the Comprehensive Travel Cover starting today. They can add it during booking on Emirates’ website or later through the Manage Booking section.

Emirates President Sir Tim Clark says customer feedback highlights strong travel demand despite ongoing uncertainty. However, he notes that traditional insurance products do not fully cover many disruption scenarios. Therefore, Emirates partners with Travel Guard to deliver broader protection and stronger customer confidence.

Meanwhile, Russel Antonio, Head of Global Business and Partnerships at Travel Guard, says the collaboration builds on a long-standing partnership. He adds that the new package sets a higher industry benchmark and better meets the evolving needs of modern travellers.
