Saudia Transported 37 Million Guests in 2025, Marking Strong Operational Growth

Riyadh: Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, recorded robust operational growth in 2025, transporting approximately 37 million guests, a 6 percent increase compared to the previous year, as the airline continued expanding its global reach and transit connectivity through the Kingdom.

According to Saudia’s operational performance report, the airline operated more than 203,900 scheduled and additional flights during the year, reflecting a 4.7 percent rise, while total flight hours exceeded 597,000, up 2.5 percent year-on-year. The airline served over 100 destinations across four continents.

Transit traffic through Saudi airports also witnessed notable growth. Saudia transported more than 3.2 million transit guests in 2025, representing an 8.4 percent increase, supported by year-round operational planning and capacity optimization during peak travel seasons.

Commenting on the performance, H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, said the sustained growth highlights the airline’s operational efficiency and strategic alignment with national aviation objectives.

“Our continued year-on-year growth in guest numbers, while maintaining on-time performance and operational excellence, reflects the integrated efforts of our planning and operations teams,” Al-Omar said. “This performance supports the Saudi Aviation Strategy and reinforces our role in bringing the world to the Kingdom, particularly by connecting visitors to major tourism, entertainment and sporting events, as well as Hajj and Umrah seasons.”

Saudia’s expanding international network, including new destinations such as Moscow, aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a global aviation hub. The airline’s growth is supported by service enhancements, a modern fleet and industry-leading on-time performance.

The expansion contributes to the Kingdom’s broader ambition to serve 330 million guests annually and connect Saudi Arabia to more than 250 global destinations by 2030.

Founded in 1945, Saudia operates a fleet of 149 aircraft, one of the youngest in the region, and serves all 26 domestic airports in Saudi Arabia. The airline is a member of SkyTeam, IATA and AACO. In 2025, Saudia was named Best Airline Staff Service by Skytrax, ranked 17th globally, and recognized by Cirium as the world’s top airline for on-time performance. It also received the World Class Airline title for the fifth consecutive year at the APEX World Class 2026 Awards.
