KARACHI, May 20, 2026: During their recent Pakistan tour, the Zimbabwe women’s national cricket team visited the Special Security Unit headquarters in Karachi. The visit highlighted Pakistan’s growing ability to safely host international sporting events.
On the occasion, SSU Commandant Amir Khan Niazi welcomed the players and officials. He briefed the delegation on the unit’s responsibilities, training systems, and operational role. Moreover, he said the SSU gives top priority to the security of foreign players and international events alongside public safety duties.
In addition, Amir Khan Niazi stressed that all state institutions share the responsibility of ensuring a safe environment for visiting teams. According to him, sports now play a key role in promoting peace, goodwill, and international relations.
