TikTok has announced major updates aimed at helping users better understand and manage AI-generated content across the platform.
The company says the TikTok AI content controls appear here to reflect its efforts to ensure transparency and safety as artificial intelligence evolves.
TikTok stated that AI can boost creativity and discovery when used responsibly, and the new features are designed to give users more clarity and choice.

A new control for AI-generated content will soon be tested within the platform’s “Manage Topics” section. This tool will let users adjust how much AI-created content appears in their ‘For You’ feed, offering a more personalised experience based on their preferences.
According to the company, people who enjoy AI-driven storytelling, digital art or educational clips will be able to increase their exposure, while those who want less of it can reduce the frequency.
TikTok says this feature will not limit creativity but will add to existing personalisation tools such as the “not interested” button and customisable keyword filters.
To increase transparency, TikTok is also strengthening its content labeling system. The platform currently uses creator-added labels, AI-detection models and C2PA Content Credentials to identify AI-generated videos.

More than 1.3 billion videos have been labeled so far, and the company now plans to introduce “invisible watermarking” as an additional safeguard.
Invisible watermarks are digital markers that cannot be seen by viewers but can be detected by TikTok’s internal systems.
These watermarks remain even after editing or reposting, making it harder for others to remove AI labels. In the coming weeks, TikTok will begin applying these watermarks to AI-generated content created through TikTok tools like AI Editor Pro and content uploaded using C2PA credentials.
In addition to safety tools, TikTok is launching a $2 million global AI literacy fund to support nonprofits and experts working on educational programs.

These initiatives will teach users how AI works, how to identify AI-generated material and how to use artificial intelligence responsibly. TikTok says partners in more than a dozen countries will create resources to improve media literacy and transparency awareness.
