Saudia has launched its first Airbus A321XLR and has become the first airline in the Middle East and Africa to receive this extra long-range narrow-body aircraft. This milestone strengthens Saudia’s fleet expansion plan and shows its continued investment in modern aircraft that improve efficiency, passenger experience, and sustainability.
With a range of up to 8,700 kilometers and flight time of around 9 hours, the A321XLR allows Saudia to operate longer routes more efficiently. As a result, the airline can expand international connectivity while matching capacity with demand and maintaining service quality.
In addition, Saudia has introduced key elements of “The New Saudia Experience” with this aircraft. The airline now offers 24 Business Class suites designed for privacy and comfort. Meanwhile, 120 Guest Class seats include upgraded design, 13-inch screens, and charging ports to improve passenger convenience.
Furthermore, Saudia has equipped the aircraft with high-speed inflight connectivity. Passengers can browse the internet, stream content, attend virtual meetings, and access entertainment platforms. Business Class travelers also receive a chef-curated dining experience with Saudi and international cuisine.
For Pakistani passengers, this upgrade improves travel connectivity between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. In particular, it supports high-demand routes during Hajj, Umrah, and peak travel seasons. Consequently, travelers, including pilgrims, business passengers, and expatriates, gain more comfort, flexibility, and connectivity on long-haul journeys.
His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, said the A321XLR delivery reflects the airline’s transformation journey. He added that Saudia is not only expanding its fleet but also improving aircraft quality, service standards, and operational efficiency under its growth strategy.
Finally, Saudia plans to add 15 Airbus A321XLR aircraft by 2027. Therefore, the airline aims to support tourism, business travel, and pilgrim traffic while contributing to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and major global events, including Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
