KARACHI, July 13,2026: Meezan Bank has partnered with the Centre for Islamic Finance (CIF) at LUMS to expand access to industry-focused Islamic finance education and develop skilled professionals for the growing sector.
The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to combine Meezan Bank’s industry expertise with LUMS’ academic excellence and strengthen Islamic finance education in Pakistan and beyond.
As the first initiative, they will jointly launch an online certification program, “Learning from Leaders of Islamic Finance.” The course will offer a structured curriculum, assessments and certification while providing practical insights from leading industry experts.
Moreover, LUMSx, the university’s digital learning platform, will host the certification program, making Islamic finance education accessible to learners across Pakistan and internationally.
Khalid Zaman Khan, Group Head of Human Resources, Learning & Organizational Development at Meezan Bank, and Dr. Tariq M. Jadoon, Provost of LUMS, signed the MoU. Senior officials from both institutions also attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tariq M. Jadoon said Islamic finance is one of the fastest-growing segments of the global financial industry. Therefore, the sector needs more accessible and high-quality learning opportunities. He added that the partnership combines academic excellence with industry expertise to prepare future-ready professionals and strengthen Pakistan’s Islamic finance ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Khalid Zaman Khan said the future of Islamic finance depends on professionals who possess both technical expertise and a strong understanding of Shariah principles. He added that the partnership reflects Meezan Bank’s commitment to promoting Islamic finance education, strengthening industry capabilities and delivering quality learning through a scalable digital platform.
The collaboration also aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by creating practical learning opportunities for students and professionals seeking careers in Islamic finance.
